![]() Dwarffortress is simpler on controls but iirc you can set hotkeys which should make things easier. The UI is generally nice thou can get irritating as when landscaping you have to 'exchange' a tile but you have to 'build' one if theirs air which is under a separate section. (Or at least what's generally allowed No goblins means no ogres, No animals means no lizards, badgers or bears) If you don't mind missing out on some of the games features, you can always customize it and have a peaceful run, to the point of specifically picking what enemies are allowed. The game is also rather decor heavy with a lotta buildings just there seemingly for looks, if you like any of "the sim's" game you'll probably like this feature, granted you'll need to let your stumpies do the actual placing. Likewise, armor has little to no impact on game-play. The game may have the 'caretaker' and 'doctor' skills but I think those were abandoned. (Pay attention to the class abilities when making units, a number of them work wonders together Knock'em down/finish him - Taunt/sneaky all buffed by Commander is OP) All that though is locked behind a 'tinker workshop' which takes a bit of a process to create unlike Dwarffortress which only requires the materials.Ĭombat is much simpler, no worrying about someone starving in a bed because someone broke their finger, just give them a weapon and shield and let them train up. There's some mechanics with things like trap doors, switches and power sources but only 1 is consistent without needing fuel. (Recommend using ramps as water can sometimes be deleted going over cliffs.) Though you can make 'Rain Catchers' for water it's hit-or-miss which can be bad on maps with no lakes. ![]() Water has few mechanics, can't even make waterfalls, I've tried. No emotions in these guys so you won't need to worry about 'tantrum spirals' but also don't get 'moods' for ez skills. ![]() It's the same kinda game just prettied up and dumbed-down. No updates which is similar to above as you won't need to worry about mods breaking, but also won't have any new content to look forward too either.Īs for how it compares, this is often termed as Dwarffortress lite. No achievements to strive for but if that's good or bad depends on the individual. If you want challenge but something spicier, there are mods for a few things. Playwise it can be challenging, plant wheat early should be the catchphrase for this game as to how often people say it but then their not wrong. Game has most of its core elements, even some stretch goals for automotons if you farm golem drops. Well considering 'Minecraft' is 30$ and Dwarffortress is free, it's adequately in the middle. Search here on forums for them to get the details. If they do spawn, you don't actually have to click on them - you can simply use your Gnomes to safely 'deconstruct' them, removing them from the game map. ![]() There's only a handful of game-breaking bugs in Gnomoria, but they're pretty specific and easy to avoid if you know about them ahead of time.ġ- **Beetles** Just turn them off in the list of enemies when starting a new game - you won't miss them - they add nothing substantial but can permanently break a saved game once enough time has passed.Ģ- **Goblin Tunnels** Game crashes when clicking on them to see the 'info box', but you can actively prevent them from ever spawning in your games with minimal extra effort, no need for hacks or cheats. "There may come a day where that changes, but that day is not today!" I've never actually done the mods myself, so all of my 'time played' (~240 hrs) is vanilla.Īs far as Ingnomia vs Gnomoria at this phase of current development, I'd still choose Gnome over Ingnome. After you play the vanilla game through - which is still enjoyable - there's also several very good mods in the workshop to expand the core game experience. It is a completely playable game - even if it doesn't have all of the things that the dev put in the roadmap. I definitely got my $12 worth (I got it on sale) over the years.

The business plan calls for the company to license components of its software. “We do not necessarily want to brand it as ‘AI generated.’ We think it's better to create something and then have people surprised by learning how it was made afterwards.” Schmidt says it will be promoted just like any other album is promoted. ![]() ![]() Musical Bits’ The Frostbite Orckings will release the first fully AI created heavy metal album on December 22nd. I think without that, it will be difficult to move listeners deeply.” It is not just about the music it is also about the personality and the emotional connection to the musicians. The larger question for me is how fans relate to the bands. “This is similar in that the training set is being created with full permission. ![]() When sampling first came in, engineers hired musicians to create samples and there was no copyright issue with that,” said legendary music executive and producer Albhy Galuten, who is now Senior Fellow of Technology Initiatives at Intertrust Technologies, a pioneer in digital rights management. “What they are doing is very interesting. Then they are painstakingly annotated by the musicians, which is the time consuming part.” And out of all these elements, the system picks first the musical elements, the concepts like chord progressions, arrangement, how to play drums together with guitars. We had musicians that played chord progressions that are related to a certain emotion or style. So we had a real drummer drumming for 40 hours in a specific style. And then the other thing we trained is how it should be played. “We fed our system with potential output sounds like in our style,” explained Schmidt, “with snare hits and with bass drum hits, with guitar power chords, with single scales, with everything that you need going down to smallest syllables or phonemes of a singer. Like the rest of the music business, it’s about hits and acts, like Orckings, not underscoring a football montage on YouTube. The goal of Musical Bits and is business plan, is different. Stable Audio starts at $12/month for a subscription that allows users to generate up to 90 seconds of audio that can be used license-free in any medium. It, too, was trained with a licensed dataset consisting of over 800,000 audio files containing music, sound effects, and single-instrument stems and text metadata from AudioSparx. Stable Diffusion launched a new web-based AI Audio platform, Stable Audio, last week. But artists are out there training their own models, which is what Musical Bits has done. While we’ve heard a lot about music models trained on all the world’s music, which may be why both Google and Meta are not releasing their text-to-music generative AI. I use a free application called MyPhoneExplorer (MPE) to sync Outlook 2010 x32 with my phone. Now I have a shiny new Samsung Galaxy Note I thought it was a good time to take another stab. As you can imagine that was a bit annoying. The problem I had back then was that MyPhoneExplorer would get launched when any USB device was connected, not just the phone. In CoD Major 2 qualifiers, Toronto Ultra fell apart and finished 11 th, failing to break into the top-eight at the Major. Toronto Ultra could only manage a sixth-place finish in Major 1 qualifiers and placed fourth in the first Major. Toronto Ultra kicked off the season with a Call of Duty League 2022 – Kickoff Classic, suggesting they will be just as deadly in 2022 as last year. ![]() That said, the boys in purple have shown some progress of late. It’s not like Ultra have made any major roster changes ahead of the 2022 season, but we have to acknowledge that the league is played on an entirely different game, which doesn’t seem to suit the Ultra. But the Toronto outfit have not looked nearly as good this year, which is interesting. Toronto Ultra were a force to be reckoned with last season, and they even made the finals of CoD Champs. And that’s very interesting, considering the weird roster changes the Minnesota squad has made at the end of April. Nevertheless, RØKKR have been showing improvement and are playing much better. He was also the main reason why RØKKR destroyed Los Angeles Thieves on Sunday granted, LA Thieves aren’t playing that well, so we would take RØKKR’s success with a grain of salt. Most notably, Dillon “Attach” Price is playing out of his mind and is easily RØKKR’s best player. They were just a bit unlucky on more than one occasion. They squeezed their way into the second Major in ninth place but crashed out of the event early, ending in ninth-12 th.īut regardless of RØKKR’s lack of achievements, the team has been playing well. Qualified for the first Major in 10 th place and finished in seventh-eight, and they couldn’t improve upon that in the CoD Major League II. ![]() They finished the CoD Kickoff Classic in fifth-eight. Even if we go way back to the start of the season, RØKKR didn’t show much. Minnesota RØKKR have not achieved much this year, and they were particularly disappointing at Pro-Am, where they placed ninth-12 th. The offered CoD esports odds make a lot of sense since this should be a close affair between two teams that are good but not quite good enough to be considered as the main candidates to win the CoD crown. RØKKR are slight favorites, whereas Ultra are at -110. The online betting sites have RØKKR and Ultra priced very closely. Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra Betting Analysis Still, like RØKKR’s success, seeing Ultra defeat a team like the Surge hardly indicates that the former CoD Championship finalists are now a good team. Meanwhile, Toronto Ultra took down Seattle Surge (3-2) last Saturday to kick off their campaign on a strong note. But while a solid achievement, beating the Guerrillas is hardly worth celebrating. Minnesota RØKKR enter the second week of CoD Major 3 Qualifiers in solid form, having beaten Los Angeles Guerrillas (3-0) to kick off the qualifiers. Check the Minnesota RØKKR vs Toronto Ultra Betting Analysis. The esports betting odds show the two squads priced at almost odds, suggesting we should be in for a close affair, and according to Major League II performances, it’s hard to argue with that. Minnesota RØKKR and Toronto Ultra will clash on Friday, May 20, in the opening round of the second week of CoD Major 3 Qualifiers. So, basically, I don’t care if my next device has buttons or not. Swipe doesn’t wear out a screen, and screens are easy to clean with a little spray cleaner and a soft cloth. This took about 10 minutes of reading to get used to, and I have never thought about it again. Instead I got used to using a swipe motion to turn pages. Neither of the tablets require the use of buttons, although I could reprogram the volume up/down button for that function. The buttons were also magnets for dirt, and were very hard to clean These were the first thing to fail on each device, and turned an otherwise useful device into scrap. The pocket PC and the Sony eBook reader had page turn buttons. I started reading eBooks on a Pocket PC, migrated to a Sony reader, then to a Nexus tablet and now to a Samsung tablet. That ereader was the Pyrus Mini from Trekstor, and it was the smallest ereader I’ve ever seen.Īnd now the Kindle Oasis has page turn buttons to one side of the screen, and an accelerometer so it can tell which way is up and flip the screen orientation to suit both lefties and righties.Īlas, the Oasis costs more than most of us can afford, but it’s still a good inspiration for the following question:ĭo want page buttons on your next ereader? If so, what kind of button layout would you want? Other ereaders had navigation wheels (or d-pads which doubled as page turn buttons), and one even had the page turn buttons mounted on the edge of its frame. ![]() ![]() Some, like the models mentioned above, only had buttons on one side of the screen, while others like the Nook Touch, the early Sony Readers, and the first several Kindles all had page turn buttons on both sides of the screen or below the screen. When it comes to ereaders, there are many were/are may different ways that page turn buttons could be configured. They could be found on ereaders of all shapes and sizes, including the Pocketbook 360, with its 5″ screen, the Pocketbook Inkpad (8″ screen), and even on large screen ereaders like the Kindle DX or the Onyx Boox Max. The Rocket eBook was just the first of many ereaders with page turn buttons. It was never commercially successful, but as you can see it does share certain design elements with the Kindle Oaxis. The Rocket eBook holds the distinction of being the very first ereader. This $290 ereader hearkens back to an early ereader, the Rocket eBook. Even when you’re holding your ereader with your thumb or finger off the screen, it’s easy for your finger to slip onto the screen and cause inadvertent page turns.Īnd now Amazon has recognized that fact, and brought page turns buttons back into vogue with the Kindle Oasis. We find it easier to maintain a one-handed grip, and turn the page simply by pressing down rather than tapping or swiping the screen, which sometimes requires adjusting one’s hold on the ereader.īuttons are also more consistent in how they respond to your touch one often has to be careful with a touchscreen to make sure that the taps are recognized as page turns, and not as a long press (this could trigger the note-taking or dictionary look-up function).Īnd then there’s the the fact that bezels are getting smaller all the time. In fact, we like buttons so much that we seek out reading apps for smartphones that let you re-purpose volume buttons as page turn buttons. ![]() Some readers, including this blogger, prefer the convenience and feel of real page turn buttons. Sure, some device makers like Onyx, Pocketbook, and Boyue keep releasing ereaders with page turn buttons, but for a lot of people the first new ereader they’ve seen with real page turn buttons (and this doesn’t include the faux buttons on the Kindle Voyage) is the Kindle Oasis. Manufacturers started phasing out page buttons in favor of minimalist designs, and now physical page buttons are so uncommon that they are a rarity on new ebook readers. The first Kobo ereader, the first Nook, the first four Kindles, and all the Sony Readers all had page turn buttons (even Google’s ereader had page turn buttons), but then touchscreens started taking over about five years ago. It may be hard to remember this in 2020, when the Paperwhite has become the archetypal ebook reader, but there was a time when ereaders all used to have page turn buttons. Garageband does not provide a simple way to change the tempo of one track, separate from the overall tempo of the song. The process of speeding up the tempo of one track within a Garageband song is different. This tempo adjustment method is the easiest way to adjust the Garageband playback speed. To use the mouse method, click down on the tempo number and hold (don’t release the click), and then drag your mouse down to decrease the Garageband song tempo, or drag your mouse up to increase the tempo. I(f you would rather not have to use your keyboard there is a way to speed up the audio in Garageband using the mouse alone. Obviously, the higher the tempo, the more you are speeding up the Garageband audio. The first thing you can do is double click on the tempo, then type in a new tempo using the numerical keys on your keyboard. There are two different ways you can increase the tempo of a Garageband song. In this particular screenshot, you can see that the tempo for this track is set at 93 beats per minute (bpm). This system has simplified my payroll, my billing and made my business more efficient so I can focus on what I should be focusing on as a business owner. The ability for property managers to link their Vrbo calendars is just another great benefit, they can schedule their own appointments with just a few clicks, which means minimal to no manual entry for any of us, again allowing us both to focus on other aspects of our businesses. Also, the reduction in phone calls and text messages from property managers wanting to know if their property is ready is down by just about 100%. The amount of time it saves me when it comes to scheduling, chasing cleaners on busy turnaround days so inspectors know where they are and when units are ready is a blessing.
